pRogRessive post: What matters most?

Thank you Elder Williams.. Napa indeed was and IS an amazing place..
We truly do meet alot of great people here on the mission and they do become our families..
Its amazing to me to see how much these people come to be so important to us. Its the love that we have for the gospel and Jesus Christ, that brings us closer together.
That's the way that it should be right?
Being here on the mission I've really had to think about what really matters to me. Sometimes we think we left alot of things behind, job, family, bf/gf's, friends and school this list can go on. I know I had to sit back and think about what truly matters. Yes, all of these things are important, but as for me and I'm sure for many of you out there, God is your number one. He should be right, He is the one that gives us life.. In Mosiah it says," I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another-I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants."
It is our Heavenly Father that gave us life.. "..all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments.."
What is important to you?
This gospel is very important to me, but I have other things that are too. I know what matters most to me is Heavenly Father, and His will for me.
I'm grateful for listening to the spirit tell me to come here and serve my God. It has made me happier and a better person. The Lord has opened my eyes to see the things that truly matter to me. I know it was something I needed to do.
"We would do well to slow down a little. Focus on the significant, lift up our eyes and truly see the things that matter most. Strength comes not from frantic activity, but from being settled on the firm foundation of truth and light. It comes from paying attention to the divine things that matter most. Diligently doing good things that matter most, will lead us to the Savior of the world." -Pres. Dieter F. Uchdorf
So now I will pass this on to the dear Sister Kenemore!

  1. Awesome! We all could stand to take a step back and consider our relationship with our Savior. How often is He Really in our thoughts and motivations?

  2. The closer I come to Christ, the more I realize what actually matters in life. It also helps me to put things into perspective. One example is my scripture reading. For a long time, I found sleep way more important than 5 minutes of reading. Super pathetic and lame right?
What's something you've done to put "what matters most" at the forefront of your life?
